OffGridNode products are built on open-source software. We use, respect, and comply with the licences of every component.

GPL source code offer

Our devices include software licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL) and other copyleft licences. In compliance with these licences, we offer to provide the complete corresponding source code for all GPL-licensed components included on the device.

To request source code, email opensource@offgridnode.com with your product name and approximate purchase date. We will provide the source on a USB drive or as a download link at no charge. This offer is valid for 3 years from the date of your purchase.

The following open-source software is included on PREPD devices:

This is not an exhaustive list. The Raspberry Pi OS distribution includes hundreds of additional open-source packages. Full package lists are available with source code upon request.

Licence summary

GPL (GNU General Public License): Free software licence requiring derivative works to remain open source. Source code is available upon request.
LGPL (Lesser GPL): Similar to GPL but allows linking from proprietary software. Source code available upon request.
BSD (Berkeley Software Distribution): Permissive licence allowing use with minimal restrictions.
